My fitness journey started in 2015, 6 years after having my 4th child my self confidence was buried in the floor, I had no motivation to go out and do anything no socialising as nothing I put on made me feel good or happy. I knew things had to change and rapid as my mental health was taking a nose dive for the worst.
So my husband put me in touch with his long time friend who was a PT and after lots of overthinking I eventually plucked up the courage to message her and go along to one of her sessions, this was the best decision I made. I started off with a couple of sessions a week to in the end going 6-7 sessions a week sometimes more, she gave me the courage to try different things and types of workout from 1-1 sessions to group sessions to boxing. The weight was dropping I was toning up it was brilliant.
At the end on 2017 I had an injury whilst training and tore ligaments and tendons in both ankles, it was awful the worst pin I have ever felt, this unfortunately stopped my training and the confidence and weight went back the other way and I soon found myself turning to the wrong foods and excuses all over again.
Then COVID hit and my mental state was low, it didn’t take me long to wake up and realise I didn’t want to be that old person again so I started going for walks when we were able to and this felt good, I started to meal prep and watch my calories then when the gyms reopen I took the plunge and signed up, I started going in the morning and evening a few times a week, put my headphones in and shut out the world, it didn’t take long to find my love for it all again.
Friends and family started asking about what I was doing and I helped them meal prep too, some even came along to the gym with me.
This made me realise how much positivity can come from taking the time to work on your self and I decided to learn more about how the body works and more on nutrition so I signed up to complete my level 3 PT and level 4 nutritionist course. I would love to be able to help others in the same way I had help myself.
